Our staff team culture at Highlands is LIFE - Love, Integrity, Fun and Excellence - as we serve the church family God has brought together at Highlands Church! The Worship Leader plays a key role in nurturing a dynamic, Christ-centered worship culture, specifically with our next generation. Working closely with our Worship Pastor, this role emphasizes pastoral leadership, intentional team collaboration and a commitment to raising up our next generation of worship leaders. This leader will have a solid foundation in both musical excellence and worship ministry, the skills to equip team members, encouraging their development both musically and spiritually, and lead students/congregation in praise and worship practices.
Some key responsibilities include:
- Worship Leadership: Lead worship with a focus on variety, regularly rotating song leaders, instrumentalists, and vocalists to build a resilient, and adaptable team. Plan and lead weekly worship services for our Young Adults ministry (The Porch) and Student Ministries.
- Collaborative Service Planning: Work with the Worship Pastor and ministry leaders to plan and coordinate service elements, aiming to have set lists and service orders finalized well in advance.
- Team Building and Preparation: Build an effective worship team by recruiting and developing volunteers. Ensure all worship team members are well-prepared through clear communication and online resources.
- Technical and AV Support: Oversee A/V and staging preparations for all assigned services, recruit and schedule training in AVL for volunteers, and conduct thorough sound checks before services.
