Flatirons The Filmmaker is a multidisciplinary visual storyteller who brings ideas to life through concept development, direction, cinematography, and editing. From initial concept to final delivery, the Filmmaker leads with both creative vision and technical precision while collaborating with producers, creatives, and ministry partners to create high-quality, emotionally resonant films that embody the Flatirons storytelling brand. They thrive in fast-paced, collaborative environments and are driven by excellence, authenticity, and innovation in every frame. PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 2+ years professional experience in film or video production (directing, shooting, editing, or related roles).
- A strong portfolio of narrative, commercial, or documentary-style work.
- Deep understanding of the end-to-end filmmaking process. From pre-production to final color and sound.
- Proven ability in visual storytelling and cinematic composition.
- Proficiency with camera systems, lighting design, and production workflows.
- Ability to direct talent (actors, volunteers, or non-actors) with empathy and clarity.
- Solid understanding of editing principles and story pacing.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and time-management skills.
- Ability to balance multiple projects in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Collaborate with team members and ministries to develop powerful film concepts and story arcs.
- Contribute to creative treatments, scripts, and storyboards that communicate vision and tone.
- Lead or support all phases of production, including pre-production planning, directing, cinematography, and post-production editing.
- Manage on-set logistics and technical execution (camera, lighting, audio, blocking, talent direction, etc.).
- Guide and inspire cast, crew, and collaborators to achieve unified creative outcomes.
- Partner with producers on scheduling, crew hiring, and location scouting.
- Ensure final films are tailored to their platform or context (services, campaigns, social, etc.) for maximum impact.
- Uphold Flatirons’ creative standards through consistency, attention to detail, and collaboration across departments.
