As the Fountain Hills YTH Pastor, High School, you are a vital part of the Team, responsible for carrying on the Vision, Mission and Values of SBC. In this role, you will report to the Next Generation Pastor and are responsible for providing pastoral oversight to the HSM Ministry of Scottsdale Bible Church, overseeing all aspects of ensuring the spiritual growth and development of students from 6th through 12th grade
Your Essential Responsibilities:
In this position, you will:
- Cast the vision of YTH to students, volunteer leaders, parents, and the church
- Provide leadership and care for the HSM volunteer teams
- Direct the recruitment, training, development, and care/appreciation of small group leaders, support team volunteers, student leader volunteers, and other volunteer teams as needed to staff weekly programs and special events
- Implement and oversee all applicable safety and security measures and ensure compliance and training of all HSM team members
- Be available to train Ministers in Residence (MIRs) and Interns for the work of the ministry
- Teach and preach to students the Truth of God’s Word through culturally relevant and high-energy services including the weekly student-driven worship
- Write small group curriculum to compliment teaching topics and train leaders on content and delivery of curriculum
- Educate, encourage, and facilitate students to participate in evangelical outreach locally with peers, the community and worldwide through special events and mission trips
- Assist in the planning of retreats or camps for students
- Assist in the creation of the HSM event calendar that will drive all the activities and teaching of the ministry and align with the church’s calendar and programs
- Design, plan, and conduct periodic student parent meetings to engage and update families of students attending SBC
- Be an active presence in local high schools and work with students to reach people on their campuses through the leadership of Food and Fellowship Clubs and the recruitment and development of student volunteers for support
- Counsel students, volunteers and parents and equip leaders to provide counsel
- Commit to developing volunteers who move through the PEO process – Participation, Engagement, and Ownership
- Maintain updated serving teams of all your volunteers in ROCK
Other Responsibilities (Non-Essential):
- Function as a member of the pastoral staff performing baptism services, weddings, funerals, etc. as appropriate
- Related duties or special projects as assigned

Education and/or experience:
- A level of education (or working toward) and experience commensurate with the position. Master of Arts or Master of Divinity or equivalent; more than 5 years of demonstrated ministry leadership experience
- 3-5 years of experience in student ministry leadership role
- 3+ years of experience in creative programming related to student programs and special events
This position requires in-office work and does not qualify for a remote arrangement.
