The Social Media Manager / Copywriter at Sagemont Church is responsible for developing and implementing our social media strategy, creating engaging content, and fostering meaningful connections with our online audience. This role plays a crucial part in extending the reach and impact of the Gospel and our church's message through digital channels.

Essential Functions:

  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy that aligns with Sagemont’s mission and values.
  2. Set clear objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of social media efforts.
  3. Create compelling, visually appealing, and theologically sound content for various social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and others.
  4. Craft messages, graphics, videos, and other content that resonate with the target audience.
  5. Build and maintain a strong online community by engaging with followers, responding to comments and messages, and fostering meaningful conversations.
  6. Monitor and moderate discussions to ensure a respectful and positive online environment.
  7. Regularly analyze social media performance metrics to track progress and make data-driven improvements.
  8. Prepare reports and provide insights to Sagemont’s leadership on the impact of social media efforts.
  9. Manage social media advertising campaigns to promote Sagemont’s events, initiatives, and content.
  10. Optimize ad targeting to reach the intended audience effectively.
  11. Be prepared to handle online crises or negative feedback with grace, empathy, and in alignment with our values and teachings.
  12. Be on standby for quick content creation in response to worldly and local events or crises.
  13. Write clear, engaging, and persuasive copy for various mediums, including websites, social media, newsletters, advertisements, brochures, and blogs.
  14. Tailor content to different audiences, objectives, and brand voices.
  15. Review and refine copy to ensure clarity, coherence, and error-free grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
  16. Maintain consistency in tone, style, and branding.
