Gateway Church Southlake, Texas Full-Time
This position supports weekend services, provides website updates, manages editorial projects, and fosters ministry connections. It will also involve increasing skills in copywriting, copy editing, and proofreading while working on projects related to internal communications, external marketing, churchwide communications, and storytelling.
- Prepare and format sermon notes for weekend services and other events as needed.
- Proof sermon notes with the live production team.
- Update external-facing website as well as central and campus content across various platforms.
- Follow up story leads with screening, interviewing, and story development for weekend services, website, and social media.
- Prepare and edit copy for email, video scripts, website, class content, and more.
- Update existing departmental documentation as needed.
- Develop a deep understanding of Gateway’s voice and style.
- Brainstorm creative ideas to market campaigns, events, and ministry opportunities at Gateway Church.
- Set up Zoom and in-person meetings, record notes, and follow up post-meeting with next steps.
- Work closely with the marketing coordinators on scheduling project tasks.
- Collaborate with Gateway ministries while managing tasks, answering requests, and gathering information in a deadline-driven environment.
- Respond (remotely) to weekend services editorial requests during Saturday on-call rotation (approx. 1–2 times/month).

Able to communicate the heart of a ministry or event. Experience with church/megachurch communications is helpful but not required.
- Problem Solving and Decision Making Able to make decisions that reflect Gateway’s voice, brand, and culture (training provided). Ability to discern when to bring a problem (with a potential solution) to oversight for intervention.
- Relational Connections Work with creative team to concept ideas and give feedback. Work with ministries to hone great content for our audience.
- Preferred Education/Certification(s) Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, or communications or certification in technical writing.
- Physical Capabilities Working at a computer. Core Competencies Technical Competencies Organization Experienced with Microsoft Word and Excel Communication (Writing & Editing) Attention to Detail Technical Savvy Ability to Work Under Hard Deadlines Creative Interest Work Within a Task-Oriented Project Management System.
