Your Essential Responsibilities:
- Cast vision, build a team, and execute ministry in the Discovery Kids Nursery
- Communicate and represent the vision of Discovery Kids and SBC to parents and volunteers
- Direct the recruitment, training, development, and care of Nursery leads, volunteers and Jr. volunteers as needed for weekend services and special events
- Develop and provide leadership to the following ministry teams: Greeter, Kids Check, Set-up/Clean up, AVL and Puppet
- Create an environment that is safe, fun and represents Jesus for all kids in your area
- Ensure that all aspects of Kids Check are ready
- Welcome and connect with all new families
- Make sure the Nursery is fully staffed at all weekend services
- Oversee that the Nursery building, and all included areas are clean, stocked, and organized
- Be responsible for and participate in the planning and implementing of Discovery Kids mid-week programming and any/all Discovery Kids events
- In addition to normal work hours, you will be required to work on Sundays and Wednesday nights
- Assist with Discovery Kids administrative tasks as assigned (materials preparation, communication and facilities requests, emails, etc.)
Education and/or experience:
- Associate’s degree in education, Christian Education or Childhood Development, or equivalent experience
- 2 years of experience in ministry, children’s programming, childcare industry, or relevant role
- 2 years of experience in team environment
In this position, you do not qualify for a telecommuting arrangement.
Church Membership is required for most paid positions.
SBC does not participate in COBRA or Unemployment Insurance.
