Time Requirements: Full-Time; Tuesday-Thursday 8a-4p Direct Report: Lead Pastor / Executive Pastor Team You Are Accountable To: Staff Team / rootsYOUTH Team
Basic Summary of Assignment:
The Youth Pastor currently serves as a Staff Pastor of Roots, and is responsible for the oversight and leadership of the rootsYOUTH department. This department includes volunteers of rootsYOUTH & 6th-12th graders. rootsYOUTH is committed to creating an environment where youth are safe, loved and cared for in which they can grow closer to Jesus Christ by being led into a dynamic relationship with Him and supported as they learn to serve God. The Youth Pastor is a servant leader who continually inspires and casts vision for the area.

Overall responsibilities and duties:
- Communicates the needs of rootsYOUTH Department with staff and other church leaders via proper channels when appropriate
- Recruit, train, coordinate and pray for volunteers
- Coordinates set up and tear down for monthly gatherings
- Oversee all curriculum and layout of each gathering
- Oversee and maintain supplies and purchases for the area
- Organizes and keeps track of all supplies
- Works within the given budget for the year to provide excellence in rootsYOUTH
- Communicate consistently and effectively with parents/guardians for the youth involved in rootsYOUTH as well as the parents/guardians of visitors (building relationships)
- Assists staff in visiting and communicating with young families of Roots; consulting with parents regarding any issues with their child(ren); referring to certified counselors as appropriate.
Sunday Specific Duties:
- Arriving on time and before team members (on weekends rootsYOUTH is being held)
- Leading the rootsYOUTH huddle following the all volunteer huddle
- Constant vision and inspiration
- What to expect for the day
- Pray with each other
- Oversee the follow through of curriculum
- Welcome and greet youth and their families
- Be available to answer any questions or concerns from parents/guardians
- Leading the all volunteer huddle as needed
- Attend Coffee With Pastor as needed
- Attend Growth Track as needed
Weekly Specific Duties:
- Communication with team & staff regarding previous and upcoming Youth gatherings
- Turn in weekly expense reports
Monthly Specific Duties:
- Attends monthly Area Coach Meetings
- Create gameplan and cast vision for upcoming youth gatherings
- Make purchases as necessary
Quarterly Specific Duties:
- Attend Quarterly Dream Team Nights
- Plan and meet with rootsYOUTH Team to provide support, encouragement, and vision
- Discuss and plan ahead for at least 3 months
- Check and update forms, processes, and manuals
Goals:
- Team seeing the value in serving the little ones and families of Roots
- Team enjoying serving with one another- building relationships
- Kids and families leaving a Sunday Experience feeling loved and supported
- Area left clean and organized
- Constantly try to keep awareness of the “Big Picture” of the Dream Team

- It is a high we have a priority for this area to provide quality care with excellence. This team is an extension of Roots Church and limited time to make a great impression.

- Each youth leaves loving rootsYOUTH- Having been loved on and cared for, taught about Jesus in a safe environment that promotes joy.
- All team members take full ownership of their Areas; from presentation to covering the schedule.
- A healthy and strong team leading this area. Strong in relationships, ministry to one another, and professionalism.
Accountability:
- To the COO on a day-to-day basis. The Youth Pastor shall keep the COO informed of objectives, programs and work schedules by means of regular Meetings.
- To the Lead Pastor on a spiritual & vision basis. The Youth Pastor shall keep the LP informed of objectives, programs and work schedules by means of regular Meetings.
Salary & Benefits:
- The Pastoral Executive Team, at the time of its annual review, shall prepare a budget request for the compensation of the Worship Pastor and submit recommendations to the Finance Team.
- The Worship Pastor shall receive time for an annual vacation with pay.
- 1-5 years of service – 2 weeks of vacation
- 6-10 years of service – 3 weeks of vacation
- 11 or more years of service – 4 weeks of vacation
- The salary and benefits package will include salary, health insurance for the employee and their family, and housing allowance.
